A Connemara based dog rescue and adoption service has launched a collie adoption and fostering campaign for the month of November.

While only 49 of the 170 dogs abandoned in Mayo in 2008 were re-homed, 62 fewer dogs were put down and 32 fewer dogs were abandoned than in 2007.
